Basil Smith - CPA, MBA

Basil G. Smith is a highly energetic, innovative and results-oriented public relations, fundraising and financial professional with outstanding success in executive management, international relations and business development, raising funds, contributing to corporate profitability and viability during periods of start-up, growth and major transition. He is also an associate professor at the University of Phoenix.

He holds an MBA degree in Management from St. Thomas University, Florida, and a CPA license from Florida and extensive training in Sales, Public Relations and Fundraising.  His technical skills include a variety of word-processing, spreadsheet and general ledger software applications as well as the selection and implementation of key computerized information systems.  

Basil has excelled in helping organizations maximize profits, reduce operating expenses, improve productivity and performance, develop international business, fundraise and improve customer satisfaction.  He possesses key technical and management strengths in accounting, operations, internal controls, human resources administration, contract negotiations, internal auditing, project management, public relations, international business development and fundraising. 

Basil has over 35 years executive experience in business, finance and operations management, project management and helping various organizations cut costs, increase operational efficiency, profitability and customer satisfaction as well as increase organizational value.  He has worked extensively in international business development such as a program in Nigeria with the Nigerian “Education Trust Fund” (ETF) to train hundreds of teachers and rehabilitate several hundred “restive” youth; and participated in fundraising over US$20M for a major non-profit building project in California.

Over the past 30 years he has generously donated his expertise to various charitable organizations including Big Brothers/Big Sisters, The United Way, The Chamber of Commerce, Little Theaters, Shelter for Abused Women, UNA-USA, the American Cancer Society and the State of Florida’s Ombudsman advocacy for the elderly.  He considers his real purpose in life to be a humanitarian.
