    Strategic Planning and Interagency Cooperation

  • §  Represented USAID in interagency policy discussions on development cooperation with China, support to ASEAN, illegal/unreported/unregulated fishing, human migration and trafficking, and dioxin clean up.

  • §  Expanded private sector partnerships to support three youth leadership hubs in Africa as part of President Obama’s Young African Leaders’ Mandela Fellowship program.

  • §  Designed and co-led the first USAID-Special Operations Command collaborative interagency planning exercise focused on Africa’s Sahel and Maghreb regions.

    Technical Leadership and Analysis

  • §  Led a diverse team of senior technical experts in energy and infrastructure, democracy and governance, and private sector development to address the development challenges in Europe and Eurasia.

  • §  Managed humanitarian, resilience and conflict reduction programming for Syrian refugees in Jordan.

  • §  Designed and managed a stabilization program monitoring platform for Yemen which was subsequently replicated in Somalia and Iraq.

  • §  Commissioned and guided a youth radicalization assessment to inform youth programming in Yemen.

  • §  Helped inform a multi-donor effort to analyze conflict minerals and wildlife trafficking in East Africa. Expanded AFRICOM awareness of the links between illegal trafficking and extremist networks.

  • §  Established the first independently produced Sesame Street educational television program in Asia, known as Sisimpur – Bangladesh.

  • §  Cooperated with the United Nations Development Programme to devise and fund conflict reduction and sustainable livelihood programming for vulnerable tribal communities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts of Bangladesh.

  • §  Expanded and improved coordination of U.S. and Romanian stakeholders dedicated to social services and volunteerism, particularly those engaged in child welfare.

§ Managed Comprehensive Market Reform program for Georgia valued at $250 million, encompassing projects in privatization, land reform, accounting reform, banking supervision, capital markets development, private sector development, energy sector reform and agricultural development.

Human Capacity Development

  • §  Oversaw regional training workshop for democracy and economic growth officers from 11 USAID missions to provide cross-training in combatting corruption.

  • §  Frequent presenter on variety of development topics to U.S. Special Operations Forces and other military personnel.

  • §  Served on Coordination Committee to develop the agenda and follow up actions for USAID Worldwide Program Officers' conference for 240 participants.
